Matheus Gato de Jesus is a sociologist, with a PhD from the University of São Paulo, 2015. She was an ALARI Visiting Fellow under the direction of Sidney Chaloub. Research interests include: processes of racialization and mobilization that marked the end of Brazilian slavery (1888) in the state of Maranhão, Brazil.
