Harion Custodio is a Fulbright Fellow - Visiting Scholar at Harvard's department of history. He studies of the depiction of Black people in post-slavery Brazil and the United States through the lens of literature. His interdisciplinary research includes slavery and manumission history, Cultural Studies, Literary Theory, African Descent Diaspora Literatures and Translation Studies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Portuguese and a Master's degree in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory both from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, where he is currently a PhD student.
