Gustavo Silveira Siqueira, professor of Legal History and Methodology of Research in Law at the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, received his PhD in legal history from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in 2011 and was a postdoctoral fellow at Max-Planck-Institut für Europäische Rechtsgeschichte in 2017. His research interests include Strikes, Constitutional History and History of Constitutions, Social Movements and the relations between Law and Dictatorships. At Harvard, he would examine how Brazilian and American authors described the Magna Carta and would compare these descriptions to what the Magna Carta was and what it attempted to achieve.
