Elisa Pomari is a PhD candidate at University of Campinas (Unicamp), a member of the Brazilian Committee for the Conservation of the Industrial Heritage (TICCIH-Brasil), and a visiting scholar at Harvard University (fall 2021 and 2021-22 academic year). She defended her MA thesis under the supervision of Cristina Meneguello (Unicamp) on visual culture of São Paulo's industrialization process at the turn of the century. Her current research focuses on the photographic and filmic images of the industry constructed by public power, businessmen and workers throughout the first half of the 20th century. The research seeks to understand how those images circulated, their agency during that period and the political and social projects behind their production.
